Xuan Hoa factory is located in the south of Binh Duong which is a province north of Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC). From the Sheraton hotel downtown HCMC the drive takes 45 minutes with no traffic. With traffic you should allow for 1 hr 15 min. The driver should take national highway 13 out of town and then turn right onto a street called 22nd of December street (Duong 22 Thang 12 street.) Then go down about one mile and turn left onto a small street numbered 21. Go down street 21 about half a mile and turn right onto street 25. Go down 1/3 of a mile, pass street 24 and you will see the entrance to Xuan Hoa on your right. Contact Xuan Hoa to schedule an appointment.

Do make an appointment in advance to make sure the right decision makers are there to receive you. Make an appointment in advance to ensure it’s worth your time to visit the factory. If you are producing small quantity, knit items or looking for stock garments don’t waste your time or the factory’s time to visit.

A taxi ride out to the factory should cost around 400,000 VND one way from the Sheraton Hotel downtown. If you book a Grab the price will be cheaper. Pay the taxi or Grab driver an additional 200,000 VND to wait for you or else ask the factory to book a return ride for you. Nowadays, in HCMC, you can get Taxis or a Grab within 10 to 15 minutes easily.

Bring physical samples with you or tech packs to facilitate productive discussions and quick decision making. If you are buying just on price then send your target prices in advance and the management can give you a quick red light green light indication. Time is money and there is no point in wasting either.

Ready made garments in Vietnam can mean one of two things. Either stock garments or originally designed by factories (ODM). Stock garments are either cancelled orders or excess production which you can buy at attractive prices. ODM stands for original design manufacturers and essentially means that the factory designs a collection which you can choose from. If the collection does not fit your market then ho harm, no foul, but no business.

They acted as an Oeko Tex Fabric Supplier and produced hoodies in high volume with low margin. Their ODM effort paid off even though Target did not buy their styles.
